DEATH NOTICE:

(Democratic Messenger Eureka, Kansas January 22, 1920)

JOHN A. SEYMORE ... Mr. John A. Seymore of Reece, died Monday, January 19, 1920, at the home of his son, Bert Seymore, near Rosalia, Kansas, aged 75 years and 10 months. Funeral services were held at the Christian Church at Reece at one o'clock Wednesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. G.F. Bradford. Burial in the Reece Cemetery.

JOHN ANDERSON SEYMOUR ... John Anderson Seymour who has been a resident of Greenwood County for the last thirty years, died Jan. 19, 1920, at the home of his son, J.H. Seymour, Rosalia, Kansas, after an illness of eleven months, aged 75 years, 10 months and 12 days. Mr. Seymour was born April 7, 1844, in Jackson County, Missouri. After serving eighteen months in the Civil War he was married to Rachel Hamilton of Decatur County, Iowa. Seven children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Seymour, two of whom preceded him. The mother was taken while their younger children were quite small, leaving the father to rear them. At an early age Mr. Seymour united with the Baptist Church. After moving to Reece he joined the Christian Church, by letter. He has lived an earnest, upright-cherished life, respected by all. He suffered a stroke of paralysis last February and has since been almost entirely helpless. A second stroke came January 17, 1920, from which he died three days later. The five children surviving are Mrs. Oma Prather, J.H. Seymour, Mrs. J.O. Prather, B.C. Seymour and Mrs. Sadie Hannon. Funeral services were held at the Reece Christian Church Wednesday, January 21, conducted by Rev. G.F. Bradford. burial in Reece Cemetery.

(Eureka Herald Eureka, Kansas January 29, 1920)

The burial of the late John Seymour was made in Reece Cemetery. Mr. Seymour has been a resident of this place for many years. His illness extended over a period of several month when death relieved him. Sympathy is extended the bereaved relatives in their loss.
