WILLIAM BERT SPICER was born near New Salem, Pike County, Illinois, February
4, 1878, being at the time of his death 35 years, 11 months and 17 days old.
He was the son of GEORGE and MARIA SPICER, of Leon, Iowa. He was married
to BERTHA WOOD April 3, 1907. To this union were born four children; the
oldest being six years of age. Besides the wife and children to mourn his
death he leaves a father, mother and three sisters; uncles, aunts and many
other relatives and a host of friends.

The body was brought from the home place on a farm five miles northwest to
the Leon Methodist Church where the funeral services were held last Monday
afternoon at 2 o'clock. The services were conducted by Rev. Guy J. Fansher,
Minister of the Methodist church. A quartet consisting of Mrs. C.G. Cline,
Mrs. O.M. Gass, Mr. W.W. Craig and Dr. J.W. Rowell sang three comforting
hymns. Interment was in the Leon Cemetery. The sympathy of the community
goes out to these in their sad loss.
