SARAH JONES COLE was born May 16, 1831, in Greene County, Tennessee, and
passed away January 19, 1914, at her home in Lewisburg, Mo., the time of her
death being ten minutes of seven o'clock in the evening. She moved to Iowa
at the age of ten years and joined the Methodist Church at the age of
seventeen. She has since lived a consistent member of that church and a
devout Christian to the time of her death.

She was married to REUBEN PETERS at Sigourney, Keokuk County, Iowa, in 1862,
and moved to Missouri in 1864. Her husband died in 1870. Three children
were born to this union, all of whom are living.

In 1872 she was married to JEREMIAH COLE. One child was born to this union.
He died in 1885.

Mrs. COLE was an invalid for three years. During this time she bore her
sufferings as a faithful Christian. During her last illness she often spoke
of her future home with bright prospects. Mrs. COLE is the mother of R.R.
PETERS of near Leon. His many friends sympathize deeply with him in his sad
bereavement.
