NANCY ELLEN MCMORRIS died at her home in Norwich, Kansas, November 14, 1913.
Her unexpected death was a shock to all. She came home from the evening
service at the Baptist Church apparently as well as usual. In the morning
her husband got up to make fires, as he always did, and on going to wake her
found she had passed away in the night. She was 72 years, 2 months and 27
days old at the time of her death.

She was born in Coshocton County, Ohio, on August 17, 1841, and was the
eldest daughter of JAMES and JANE MCMORRIS, her father having died when she
was ten years old. At the age of 12 she joined the Methodist Episcopal
Church of which she was a member until 1890, when she united with the
Baptist Church in Iowa, living all her life a faithful and devoted worker.

On March 5th, 1859, she was united in marriage to JAMES W. GRAVES. To this
union were born ten children, five having preceded her to the better world,
four of them in infancy and FLEETA B. ANDERSON having died April 26, 1897,
at Pleasanton, Iowa

In the year of 1865 with her husband and family they moved to Indiana,
living there until the year 1870, when they moved to Iowa, remaining there
until the year 1900, when they moved to Kansas, where they were living at
the time of her demise.

She is survived by a devoted and loving husband, four sons and one daughter,
thirty grandchildren, two brothers, two sisters, nephews, nieces and a large
number of friends.

All her children were present; Mrs. EMMA LINN, of Ellston, Iowa; HARVEY, of
Harper, Kansas; HOWARD, of Norwich, Kansas; EMMETT, of Davis City, Iowa;
and CLYDE, of Cunningham, Kansas, and a nephew, ARTHUR MCMORRIS, of Leon,
Iowa.

She was a kind and loving wife and mother and loved by all who knew her.

The funeral services were held at the Baptist Church on Sunday, November 16,
conducted by by Rev. Howard, his text being taken from Kings 2:4-8.
Interment was made in the Stitch Cemetery.
