DEATH NOTICE:

ELMORE, Gary Earl, 42, died Monday aug. 13, in Iowa Methodist Medical Center. Service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15 at Slade-O'Donnell Funeral Home with Pastor Max Carmichael officiating. Burial will be in the Leon Cemetery. Visitation was all day Tuesday.

He is survived by hsi mother Thelma M. Elmore of Leon.

GARY EARL ELMORE Gary Earl, son of Earl and Thelma [Showers] Elmore, was born September 2, 1947 at the Decatur County Hospital in Leon, Iowa and died August 13, 1990 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Des Moines, Ia age of 42 years, 11 months and 11 days.

Gary lived his life on a farm near Leon, attending country school at West Eden and then Leon High School. He enjoyed farming, working with his parents and for neighbors; also traveling and driving trucks.

Preceding him in death was his father, Earl; uncles: Floyd, Lawrence, Ralph and Dewayne Showers; and Ray and Linnie Elmore, and aunt, Millie Petty.

Survivors are: his mother Thelma of the home near Leon; uncles and aunts: Harley Wayne Elmore and family of Willard, MO; Deloris Elmore and family, Bethany, MO; Eldon Showers and family, Davenport, Iowa; Vernon Showers and family and Ruby Chapman and family all of Leon, a host of cousins and other relatives and friends.
