CHIP, Mary Emaline, 88, died at the Osceola Leisure Manor Oct. 21. Service was held Nov. 4 from the Kale Funeral Home in Osceola with Rev. Mr. Verlin Chipp officiating. Burial was in the Murray Cemetery.

MARY EMALINE CHIPP Mary Emaline Chipp was born Aug. 21, 1897 in Decatur County, Iowa, Daughter of Francis Spray and Sarah Cross Spray. She attended schools in Decatur County and on Jan. 19, 1916 was married to Thomas Alexander Chipp in Grand River, Iowa. Nine children were born to this union.

She was a lifetime resident of Decatur and Clarke Counties and was a member of the Christian Church at Mt. Zion near Grand River since 1911.

Survivors include a son, Norman Chipp and wife, Clara Belle of Ridgecrest, Ca.; son Urman Chipp and wife Vera, Osceola; daughter, Margaret Burchett and husband, Harold, Fallbrook, Ca.; son Lowell Chipp, Osceola; son Robert Chip and wife Jean, Lucas; son Rev. Mr. Verlin Chipp and wife, Berniece, Indianapolis, In.; 58 grandchildren; several great and great great grandchildren; brother, Raymond Spray of Leon; and sister Ella Bellman, Arcadia, Ca.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Thomas; daughter, Maxine Glazebrook; son Lewis Ivan Chipp; daughter-in-law, Irene Chipp and five grandchildren.
