HAROLD WARD (Lineville, IA) ... Harold David Ward, son of Adelbert Montgomery and Mary Gladys [Vinzant] Ward, was born in Mercer County, MO, May 10, 1914, and passed away at the Leon Care Center, Leon, IA, August 26, 1993, at the age of 79 years.

Harold was united in marriage to Jenny Gale Brown March 18, 1939, at Princeton, MO. Jenny Gale survives him of the home in Lineville. He is also survived by his daughter, Barbara Buttz, of Lineville; his son, Sgt. First Class Dennis E. Ward, of Camp Red Cloud, Korea; two brothers, Lyle Ward, of Lineville and Wayne Ward, of Clio, IA; and by his nine grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, patty Bloom; his sister, Estelle McCarty; an infant brother; and by a great-granddaughter.

For the past 25 years, Harold has made his home in Lineville. Most all his adult life, he has lived in Mercer County, MO, and Wayne County, IA. His work and employment has always been farm related and he loved hunting and fishing.

His body was cremated. Memorial services will be held Wednesday, September 1, 1993 at 1:00 p.m. at the Greenlee-Middleton Funeral Chapel in Lineville, IA, with Rev. Larry Chaney officiating. Burial of the ashes will be in the Early Cemetery in Mercer.
