(The Mirror Mercer, Missouri "Reflecting Mercer County" August 13, 1993)

RAYMOND JENNINGS (Mercer) ... Raymond "Cotton" Jennings, son of George and Sarah [Dotson] Jennings, was born in Woodland, IA, on March 24, 1905, and died at his home northeast of Mercer, on August 26, 1993, at the age of 88 years.

Raymond was united in marriage to Gladys Irene Warnock on Aril 24, 1927. Gladys preceded him in death on December 13, 1982. He was also preceded in death by his parents; and by his sister, Nettie Rumbley.

Raymond is survived by his seven sons, Francis and Cecil Jennings, both of Mercer, George Jennings, Tacoma, WA, Robert Jennings, Nashua, NH, Chester Jennings, Chesterfield, Donithan Jennings, Magnolia, AR, and Charles Jennings of Davenport, IA; his two daughters, Bethel Keller of Raytown and Catherine Nott of Lucas, TX; his 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and by one great, great-grandchild.

Raymond has lived on his farm northeast of Mercer since 1968, moving there from rural Princeton. He worked all his adult life as a mechanic. He was employed by Dailey Implement in Lineville and Leon, IA, for over 17 years, and later worked for Carlisle Motors, Saxton implement and Trainer Implement in Princeton. He dearly loved the outdoors, hunting, trapping and fishing.

Funeral services were held monday, August 30, 1993, at 1:00 p.m., at the Greenlee-Middleton funeral Chapel in Lineville, IA, with Rev. Max Carmichael officiating. burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery in Lineville.
