The people of Weldon were shocked and saddened when the news of the death of
BOYD MCVAY reached them last week. He died Monday of last week at his home
near Bozeman, Montana, after a short illness from pneumonia complicated with
heart trouble. He was buried in the cemetery near Bozeman, Thursday, June 5
He grew to manhood on a farm a few miles from Weldon and continued to
occupy the same farm after his marriage until a few years ago when he sold
it and moved with his family to the Gallatin Valley, Montana, where he was
very prosperous financially. His friends here which are numbered by his
acquaintances can hardly realize that he has fallen a victim to disease for
the reason that when he last visited here only a very few years ago, he
being comparatively a young man, was a perfect specimen of manhood
physically. He leaves a wife and four children, one girl and three boys,
some of whom have almost reached man and womanhood. He too, leaves a
heartbroken widowed mother and an only sister, Mrs. A.S. ECTON, both living
in Bozeman. Just now the thought comes to us stronger than ever that death
is no respecter of persons but sometimes the strong as well as the weak must
be laid beneath the sod. We cannot understand why it is for now we see
through a glass darkly. Relatives of the deceased can rest assured that
they have the sincere heartfelt sympathy of their Weldon friends and former
neighbors in their sorrow.
