The following taken from the Public Mirror, published at Arapahoe, Nebraska,
is in regard to the death of a former Decatur county citizen who resided
here many years ago and is known to many older residents of the county:

"JACOB B. PEIRSOL was born in Butler County, Pennsylvania, May 1, 1833, died
February 19, 1913, age 79 years, 9 months and 18 days.

The deceased was united in marriage to ELIZA PIERCY, in Decatur County, Iowa
Feb. 26, 1860, and came to Nebraska in 1899. To this union were born ten
children, five having preceded the parents to the world beyond, and the wife
passed away just ten days before the husband, leaving to mourn his loss four
sons and one daughter and one brother, as follows: NELSON and GEORGE, of
Frontier County, and CALVAN, of Live Oak, Cal.; STANLEY and CORNELLA, of
Arapahoe, and a brother, J.K. PEIRSOL, of Ft. Bragg, Cal.

The funeral services were held from the residence Thursday, the 20th, at one
o'clock, conducted by Elder McGraw."
