MYRTLE ROSE ALDERSON was born in Randolph County, Mo., Feb. l3, l878, and died near Davis City, Iowa, May l6, l924, aged 46 years, 3 months and 3 days. She was married to EMMET C. COWLES Nov. l4, l897. To this union were born ten children, two preceding their mother to the better land. Those living are: EARL, MRS. ROSAMOND SWEGIE, of Grand River; MABLE, CLINTON, GERALD, MILDRED, LESTER and HAROLD, at home. There are also three surviving sisters, MRS. ALBERT COLLINS, MRS. FLORENCE TURNER, of Trenton, Mo., and GUERT COLLINS, of Edinsburg, Mo. All of the children and also her sisters were with her during her illness and death. Her mother was laid to rest on Easter Sunday.

MRS. COWLES became a Christian early in life, and remained a devoted Christian all her life. She suffered intensely, but was patient and kind through it all. She said she was ready to go any time the Lord should call her, but yet she worried concerning the children. But our dear Savior has promised He will be a Father of the fatherless. And we know they are safe in his care.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. J.E. Clark at New Salem; and the body was laid to rest in the cemetery by the church.
