Thursday, May 29, l924WILBERT WALTON WILEY was born in Arlington, Buel County, Illinois, Nov. 9, l856, died May 20, l924, at Davis City, Iowa, aged 67 years, 7 months and 9 days. He came to Iowa in l868, where he grew to manhood and lived with his parents until 30 years of age. On July 30, l885, was united in marriage to EVA RHODES, to this union nine children were born. They are: FRED WALTON, JOHN FLOYD, JAKE FRANK, PEARLE ELROY, DOLLY LILLIAN, DOVIE ALVA, and VELMA ALICE who are left to mourn the loss of a father. OLLIE FRANCES and LOUIE GWENDOLYN having passed on before. Together the family lived on a farm near Lamoni until l9l2, when they moved to Woodland Township, and later in l9l6 moved to Davis City where they have since resided. The mother preceding the father to the beyond 7 years ago.
MR. WILEY was a home loving father, caring more for his home than the world, always looking for the welfare of his family. His sickness was of short duration and patient to the end. Upon inquiry as to his health he was always, better. He was a friend and neighbor to everyone.
He leaves to mourn their loss besides his chidlren, several grandchildren, two sisters, four brothers and a host of relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at the M.E. Church, conducted by Rev. J.E. Clark. Interment made in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
