The farm of Richard Judson, southwest of Lamoni was the scene of a tragedy Wednesday evening which caused the death of CLINTON OWES MOUTRAY, twelve-year-old son of MRS. WALTER E. MOUTRAY.

OWES and his younger brother were riding a team of horses to water at the Judson farm, where OWES was employed temporarily to do small chores, when the horse he was riding reared up, throwing him to the ground in front of the animal where the horse afterward stepped on him causing internal injuries from which he died in about an hour.

The accident occurred about five p.m. The little brother immediately summoned aid and a physician was called but the injuries were of such a nature that there was not a chance for life.

The horse the boy was riding was considered perfectly safe and just what caused it to become fractious is a mystery. The boy's father is employed by Earl Anderson, the family living on the same farm which is near the Judson home.

CLINTON OWES was born in Clinton Township, Ringgold County, near Redding, Iowa, March 25, l9l2, making him at the time of his death, l2 years, l month and l9 days old.

He leaves to mourn his death, father, mother, one sister, NILE and four brothers, CECIL, KENNETH, DALE and BOBBIE; also four grandparents, MR. and MRS. D.R. MOUTRAY and MR. and MRS. ATHIEL MILLER, all of Grant City.

The family lived near Grant City prior to coming to Lamoni and the little form was taken there for burial, a short service being held at the home at 8 a.m. Friday morning in charge of Elder W.E. Prall. Further services were held at the U.B. Church near Grant City at ll a.m.

OWES was a good child, a great comfort and help to his parents, who have the sympathy of the entire community in their untimely loss.
