Thursday, May l5, l924After a critical illness lasting about two weeks, the result of a stroke of paralysis, MR. W.A. BLAIR passed away peaceably at his home in Detroit, Mich., May 2, l924, at the age of 6l years, 6 months and l day.
MR. BLAIR was among the early settlers of this community, having moved here with his parents in l884
where he made his home for about fifteen years. During his stay in Lamoni, for a number of years he was a member of the firm of Blair & Bell, general merchandising, his partner being T.J. Bell who still resides here.WILL A. BLAIR, son of MR. and MRS. W.W. BLAIR, was born at Little Sioux, Iowa, November l, l862. With his parents, he moved to Illinois in l864. They came to Lamoni in l884 and WILL was married to MISS VIOLA BLAKESLEE at Galien, Michigan, in l865 (sic). For about ten years after leaving Lamoni, MR. BLAIR traveled throughout the west and northwest for a wholesale millinery firm of Kansas City.
MR. and MRS. BLAIR moved to Detroit, Michigan, about l2 years ago where MR. BLAIR was credit manager for a large real estate company until the time of his death.
Deceased was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and held the office of Bishop. He was active in church work, having charge financially of the southeastern Michigan district. He was a man of a very congenial disposition, making friends wherever he went. He has many friends among the older residents of this community.
He leaves of his immediate family, a wife and one grown son, and his companion; also four brothers and one sister.
