SAMANTHA ELLIOT OSBORN was born in Hendricks County, Indiana, Feb. l6, l849, and died at Davis City, Iowa, April 9, l924, age 75 years, l month and 25 days. She was married to JOHN OSBORN April l2, l866; six boys and three girls were born to them as follows: GEORGE, of Indianapolis, Indiana; ELDRIDGE, deceased; JOHN, of What Cheer, Iowa; JAMES, of Kellerton, Iowa; JESSE, of Council Bluffs, Iowa; and STEPHEN, of Davis City, Iowa; SUSIE SHARP, of O'Neill, Nebraska; MOLLIE PULLEN, of Leon, Iowa; and MINNIE BOOTH, of Akron, Mo.;
All of the children were at her bedside during the last hours of her suffering. She was a good wife and a kind and loving mother.

She was converted about thirty-five years ago at Oakland, Iowa, in the Presbyterian Church. In later years she united with the Church of Christ at Eden Prairie, and lived a Christian life. She had been an invalid for several years, suffering from paralysis. She was patient in her affliction, but often wished that the Lord would call her from her suffering. She recognized all her children up to a few hours of her death and was glad to have them near her. Besides the eight children, she leaves to mourn, her aged husband, 37 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren and a host of friends.

The funeral services were conducted by Wm. J. Campbell at the home and the M.E. Chapel, and the body laid to rest in the new cemetery of Davis City.
