MINNIE, daughter of W.S. and JANE LUCE, was born July 30, l862, in Knox County, Illinois. While a young girl she moved with her parents, settling in Clarke County, where she has resided the remainder of her life, living in the neighborhood of Weldon for the past twenty years. On August l7, l883, she was united in marriage to ANDERSON TOMPKINS. To this union were born seven children.

MRS. TOMPKINS passed away at her home on Friday, April l8, l924, being of age 6l years, 8 months and l8 days.

She leaves to mourn her death, the husband, four sons: CHARLES, of Des Moines, and N.E., W.G., and E.R., of Weldon, two sisters: MRS. ELVA KARR, of Oregon and MRS. ALICE COON, of Murray, and three brothers: CHARLES, of Idaho and ARCHIE and ELGY, of Clarke County. Three daughters; INEZ, MABLE and GLADYS have preceded the mother in death.

MRS. TOMPKINS professed her faith in the Saving Christ in early girlhood and has since been a member of the Disciples and Methodist Church.

Funeral services were held from the Methodist Church of Weldon, with the Pastor, Rev. Frank Moore officiating, on Sunday afternoon. Burial was made at Murray. A host of friends and neighbors through word and prayer, and deed, express their profound sympathy to the family of the bereaved in this the loss of a helpful wife and dutiful mother.
