HARRIET JEAN, youngest child of MR. and MRS. EARL SMITH of southeast of Weldon, died on Friday evening after a few hours' illness. She was eighteen months and twenty-eight days of age, being born Sept. l3, l922.

The funeral was held from the home on Saturday afternoon and burial was made at Garden Grove.

The sudden death was a shock to family and friends. The entire neighborhood unite in extending to the family their deepest sympathy. The death was all the more sad in that it was necessary for MRS. SMITH to undergo a surgical operation at the hour of the funeral. At this writing she is doing as well as could be expected.
