NATHAN BIGLEY was born in Pickaway County, Ohio, March 6, l830, and died at his home in Leon, Iowa, February l6, l924, aged 93 years, ll months and l0 days old. When about twenty years old, he moved with his father to the State of Iowa, where he resided until his death. He was united in marriage to ELIZA JANE BIVENS, and to this union were born twelve children, 7 of them have preceded him in death. Those living are WILLIAM BIGLEY, Tarkio, Mo.; ALFRED BIGLEY, Kellerton, Iowa; CHARLES BIGLEY, Omaha, Nebraska; MARY JUNE, Barnard, Missouri; and LEOTA COZAD, St. Joseph, Missouri. The mother of these children died in l887. In l889, he married MARY EVANS. To this union were born six children: LILLIAN KUDER, Kansas City, Missouri; EARL BIGLEY, FRED BIGLEY, TRACY BIGLEY, MINNIE BIGLEY and CURTIS BIGLEY, of Leon. MINNIE having preceded him in death.

MR. BIGLEY has been a resident of Leon since its early days, and was known by almost everyone as "Uncle Nate." He was a devoted father, a kind neighbor, and a good citizen. He made friends of those with whom he came in contact, and by his most intimate friends he was known, as a most agreeable, kindly man, always willing and unselfish in his service to others. He was a great lover of children, and enjoyed having the children of the neighborhood about him. In his business dealings he was always honest, upright and fair with everyone. "Uncle Nate" will be greatly missed on the streets of Leon, among his associates, and in his home.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, Feb. l6, at the Christian Church, conducted by Rev. J.V. Clark, Pastor; interment being in the Leon Cemetery.
