EFFIE DECKER, daughter of H.L. and ELIZABETH DECKER, was born in Ford County, Illinois, February 23, l889, and died at Leon, Iowa, October 24, l923, aged 34 years, 8 months and l day.

She was united in marriage to CLYDE V. MAYNARD at Shelbyville, Illinois, August (?), l907, and with her husband came to Decatur County, Iowa in the fall of l9l2, where she lived until the time of her death. To this union were born six children, HAROLD, fifteen years old; MILDRED, eleven years; DOROTHY, nine years; HELEN, six years; MAXINE, three years; and JUANITA RUTH, almost six weeks old.

MRS. MAYNARD was a faithful member of the Leon brethren Church for several years, and died in a triumphant faith. She leaves to mourn her demise, her husband and six children, father, mother, brothers, sisters and many friends and neighbors.

Funeral services were held at the Brethren Church, Friday afternoon, conducted by the Pastor, and were attended by a large concourse of sorrowing friends. The floral tributes were many and beautiful, testifying to the love and esteem of many friends. Interment was in the Leon Cemetery.
