ANNA HODGES was born in Wyoming County, New York, Feb. 2, l856, died at her home north of Weldon, Iowa, November l, l923, aged 67 years, 8 months and 29 days.

MRS. LEDGERWOOD came to Iowa in l86l, with her parents, who located on a farm north of Weldon. On April l6, l874, she was united in marriage to JOHN LEDGERWOOD, at Osceola. To this union was born one daughter, MRS. R.A. SIGLER, who with her devoted husband, are left to mourn the loss of a true wife and devoted mother.

While MRS. LEDGERWOOD had not been in the best of health, her final illness was of short duration, being taken sick about 36 hours prior to her death. Physicians were at once summoned, and everything that skilled and loving hands could do was done, but the final summons came last Thursday evening.

MR. and MRS. LEDGERWOOD were residents of Leon for twenty-one years, and had a host of dear friends in this city. She was one of God's angels, her life having been devoted to her husband and daughter, and she was one of those who are always ready to lend a helping hand, in sickness or distress, and by her deeds had won the highest respect and love of every community in which she lived. She was looking forward with great pleasure to the celebration of that great event, their golden wedding in April of next year, but God willed otherwise. In her death the community has lost one of its most beloved citizens, and the sympathy of all goes to the grief-stricken husband, daughter and other relatives.

Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church in Weldon on Saturday morning, Nov. 3, at l0 o'clock, conducted by the Pastor, Rev. Frank Moore, and were attended by a vast concourse of sorrowing friends. Interment was in the Leon Cemetery, where a large number of friends assembled to pay their last tribute of love and respect.
