IRA P. YOUNG was born near Grand River, Iowa, April 28, l869, and departed this life at his home in Grand River, July 7, l923, being at the time of his death, 54 years, 2 months and 9 days of age. His life was spent in this vicinity with the exception of six years spent in South Dakota.

He was married to CORA MILES, January 29, l893. To this union were born five children, four of whom are living, one having died in infancy. He leaves to mourn his death, his wife, four children and one grandchild and a host of relatives and friends. He was loved by all who knew him. He was a faithful husband, a kind and loving father, a good citizen.

He was converted in the winter of l9l6, during a revival meeting held in the Grand River Pentecostal Church, conducted by Evangelist L.E. Brown and from that time until his death, he kept faithfully to his Lord, being a living testimony everywhere he went. The night before he died he talked of his going home to be with Jesus. Evangelist L.E. Brown was with him that night and as he left he said, "Well, IRA, if you get there before I do, just look for me for I am coming too," he said "I will." Apostle Paul said, "If in this life only we have hope in Christ we are of all men most miserable." lst Cor. l5:l9. But Brother IRA had a hope that reached beyond this life.

Funeral services were conducted by Evangelist L.E. Brown in the Grand River Park, the remains being laid to rest in the Young Cemetery.
