Thursday, July l9, l923JUDGE G.W. POST, 70 years of age, prominent banker of Torrance and former Superior Court Judge of Nebraska, died June 30, at his home in Torrance, California.
MR. POST came to California ten years ago from his former home in York, Nebraska, and was associated with the late T.S. Torrance in building up the city where he made his home in California.
Under President Arthur, MR. POST was collector of internal revenue for Nebraska, and for eight years was on the District Court bench. He was President of the Nebraska State Banker's Association. As a youth he served in the Civil War. He was a thirty-second degree Mason.
MR. POST leaves his widow, one son, J. WALLACE POST, President of the First National Bank of Torrance, and four daughters, MRS. A.E. SEDGWICK, of Los Angeles; MRS. J.A. VISEL, of New York City; MRS. A.L. MOORE, of Ventura and MRS. J.S. LANCASTER, of Torrance, also 2 sisters: MRS. ELLA SANG, of Los Angeles, California and MRS. MATTIE LAYTON, of Leon.
