LUCY ANN FROST, was born near Fallsburg in Licking County, Ohio, June l6, l850. A daughter of JOHN W. FROST and wife, who lived and died in Licking County, Ohio. In December l868, she was united in marriage with AARON VAN WINKLE in Fallsburg, Ohio. To this union were born six children, two boys and four girls, CLEMENT ELMER, of Davis City, Iowa; JOHN WESLEY, of near Pleasanton, Iowa; LILLIE BELL CRAIG, deceased, June 7, l909, at Davis City, Iowa, she being the wifeof A.G. CRAIG; MAUDE BURRELL, of Davis City, Iowa; MRS. ELLA FULTON, of near Cove, Arkanass and MRS. OTTIE BREWER, of Pueblo, Colorado. Only ELMER, JOHN and MAUDE were present at the time of her death, as she was only sick about l3 hours.

She seemed to be in her usual health on Friday evening, but about midnight she was taken sick, and called her daughter MAUDE who made her home with her mother, and a physician was called and all was done for her that could be done, but she had a severe stroke of paralysis from which she never rallied, but remained conscious until about l p.m. Saturday, when she peacefully passed away.

She was converted and united with the Providence Baptist Church in l922 and lived a consistent Christian life the remainder of her days. She was a good peaceful neighbor and respected by all who knew her. Her children are all grown and married and she had 9 grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Her husband, AARON VAN WINKLE, preceded her in death on December 30, l9l2, and was buried by the side of his daughter, MRS. LILLIAN CRAIG in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Davis City.

Funeral services were conducted by her Pastor, Rev. Elba Dale at the M.E. Church in Davis City, Iowa on June ll, l923.
