Mrs. OLIVER DURHAM.

IDA LUTICA WALTON was born in Crawford County Ohio, November 17, 1843, and
moved with her parents to Indiana, and from there to Leon Iowa where she
was united in marriage to OLIVER DURHAM, March 5, 1871. To this union was
born three children, GUY who died in infancy, FRANK of Montana, and
LENHART of this community. The two last mentioned being here at the
present but FRANK was unable to get here until after his mother's death,
which occurreed at her home, January 25, 1916.

Mrs. DURHAM moved with her husband, who still survives her, to Kansas in
1872 and settled on the homestead that has ever since been her home.

In the death of Mrs. DURHAM the community lost a beloved neighbor who had
battled the hardships of the pioneer life and helped to make Kansas what it
is today. The two sons a fond and loving mother and the husband the only
comfort he had in these his declining days. The family have the heartfelt
sympathy of the entire neighborhood.

The funeral service was held Monday afternoon at the Pleasant Prairie
School House, burial in the near-by Cemetery, conducted by Rev. James
Cornish, of Jewell.

We wish to thank all our friends and neighbors and especially the
telephone girls for their assistance during the illness and death of our
darling wife and mother.

This is the daughter of Henry Lenhart Walton and Sarah Elizabeth Clark
Walton One of the pioneers of 1853.
