ELEANOR JANE GASTON was born Feb. l, l834 in Columbiana County, Ohio, and died January 24, l923, at the age of 88 years, ll months and 24 days. She came to Iowa when a young woman with an older brother and settled at Traer, Iowa. She taught school until l868, when she was married to JOHN A. GEETING of Forreston, Illinois. They came to Decatur County, Iowa in l87l. Two children were born to this union, a daughter which died in infancy, and CHAS. A. GEETING, of Spencer, Iowa, who survives.

Sister GEETING was one of a family of five boys, and five girls, all of whom have passed away with the exception of MRS. ELIZABETH LYONS of Springfield, Oregon. She is 95 years old. Brother GEETING, the husband passed away May l9, l92l.

Sister GEETING was a faithful member of the Methodist Church in Decatur for many years. A faithful, loyal teacher in the Sunday School, and many will remember her with love and affection. She has gone to her reward, but her works will follow her. She was one of God's faithful ones, and well did she know her Bible and her Lord. One could not be in her presence without feeling that they were in the presence of a woman of extraordinary ability and spiritual power. She was an active member of the Relief Corp until failing health compelled her to remain at home. She was confined to her bed but 2l days, her passing was peaceful, and we all feel that she has won the crown and has heard the loving voice say "Come ye blessed, for My Father, inherited the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world."

The funeral services were conducted at the Methodist Church in Decatur at the Methodist Church in Decatur, Friday, January 26th at three o'clock by the Pastor, Rev. Mrs. A.E. Porter, and the body laid to rest in the Decatur Cemetery.
