HOMER BOWEN, a young lad eighteen years of age, living on a farm near Lamoni, died Monday night from injuries received that forenoon by the accidental discharge of a shot gun. He was hauling hay, and picked up a gun which was in the hay mow, when in some manner, the weapon was discharged, the load striking him in the shoulder. He was alone at the time and although badly injured, walked half a mile to secure assistance. He was taken to Lamoni, but medical aid could not stop the hemorrhage, arteries having been cut off and he passed away Monday night about ll o'clock.
