Thursday, May 29, l924SUSANNA, daughter of EDWARD and SUSANNA FOREMAN, was born in Albeach, Lincolnshire, England, July 27, l826; died at Lamoni, Iowa May l4, l924, age 98 years, 9 months and l8 days.
She was united in marriage to MOSES MCHARNESS in May, l845. To this union were born seven children; three daughters and her husband preceding her in death. Those left to mourn her departure are: MRS. FANNIE DRAKE, of Hartford, Michigan; MRS. MARY WILLIAMS, Lamoni, Iowa; EDWARD MCHARNESS, of Kansas City, Missouri and MRS. ROSE WILEY, of Colony, Kansas. MRS. MARY WILLIAMS has cared for her for the last eight years and nine months. The deceased leaves 2l grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren and several of the fifth generation, also a host of relatives and friends.
The deceased accepted the Gospel in England in l848. In l857, she with her family, came to America. In later years, she united with the Reorganization and has lived faithful until death. She was one of the early settlers of this country, having lived here before the town of Lamoni was started. In the early years of her life, she took great pride in the development of the church and community. Until the day of her death, her earnest prayers were an inspiration to those who heard her. By her testimonies she proved herself a worthy Saint and she desired that the Gospel and work of God would prosper.
Services Friday afternoon from the home, in charge of Bishop A. Carmichael, sermon by Elder D.C. White.
