FLORENCE B. THORNE was born in Jackson County, West Virginia, July 24, l872, and passed away after years of frail health at her home in Natoma, Kansas, Aug. 24, l922. On November 2, l89l, she was united in marriage to L.F. NIECE at Mount Ayr, Iowa. To this union were born six children, of whom three are living. They are GLADYS E. TEMPLETON, of Spearville, Kansas; GRACE E. GARNETT, of Saline, Kansas; and LOUIE ADELAIDE, at home; grandchildren are BOB, LOUIS and LAVERNE TEMPLETON and GAIL GARNETT. In addition to her husband and the children, there are left to mourn her loss, her father, EDGAR THORNE, of Ottumwa, Iowa; one brother, M.D. THORNE, of Ottumwa, Iowa; and one sister, MRS. L.R. WILSON, of Des Moines, Iowa, who were all present at the time of her death.

She was united and baptized in l899 in the Baptist Faith, until the end came. Funeral services were conducted at the home in Natoma at l0:00 a.m., Saturday morning, Aug. 26, by Rev. E.C. Goodenberger of the Natoma Presbyterian Church, and the body was laid to rest in Natoma Cemetery.
