Thursday, August l0, l922ALLEN FRANKLIN HINES was born in the city of Minneapolis, May 6, l906, and died at Centerville, Iowa, August 3, l922, aged l6 years, 2 months, 27 days. He was the second child born to ALLEN A. and ELIZABETH HINES. From his birth he had been frail in physique and all his life was denied the vigorous activity of most lads of his years. Death came as the climax of all the infirmities from which he had uncomplainingly suffered throughout the years.
ALLEN's boyhood was spent largely in Leon. Here he spent his school days, and his death is a terrible grief to the great number of his school mates who loved him. He was active in the Boy Scouts. To all he was endeared for his courteous manliness, his purity, his genial disposition. His mother died when he was a babe of six months, but in the tender care of his aunt, MRS. GERTRUDE MARKLEY, he found a mother's love and strength.
He leaves to mourn his passing, his father and aunt, many relatives and an unnumbered company of friends. The funeral service was held Saturday afternoon from the Methodist Church in Leon, conducted by the Pastor, and the body was laid to rest in the Davis City Cemetery beside the mother.
