NANCY ANN DOLL was born Sept. 9, l838, at Columbus, Ohio, and died August 4, l922 at the home of her daughter, MRS. WM. PERDEW, at Shenandoah, Iowa. She moved with her parents to Mahaska County, Iowa, near Eddyville, where she grew to womanhood. She was married to CHARLES RUMLEY, July 20, l858. Eight children were born to this union, five of them living, to mourn the loss of a devoted Christian mother.
The children living are: JOHN and HENRY, of Leon; MRS. ELLA PERDEW and MRS. NANNIE FRAZIER, of Shenandoah; MRS. ADA FINKBONE, of Guthrie, Minnesota. MRS. PERDEW, MRS. FRAZIER and HENRY were by her side and did all that loving hands could do for mother.

She, with her husband, moved to Decatur County in the year l868, and settled on their farm northwest of Leon. They lived near Leon until the father's death in l903. She was converted and united with the M.E. Church at the age of l6 years. She lived a consistent Christian life, so patient, gentle and loving. All through the months after her accident, nine months ago, from falling and fracturing her hip, she showed the same patient Christian spirit. In the assistance of the loved ones for a few moments, she tried to help herself and fell and fractured the other hip, Monday, July 3lst. This was more than her strength could bear and August 6th, she closed her eyes to all this world's cares, pains and sighing, and went on to receive her reward.

After the death of the father, she was in the care of her sons, JOHN and HENRY, until her accident in April when she was taken to Shenandoah to be cared for by her daughters. In her last hours, she was anxious about HENRY. Her last request was to write JOHN and CAL HOFFMAN. She leaves besides her children, l8 grandchildren, a number of great grandchildren and a host of friends to mourn the loss of a kind mother.

Funeral services were conducted at the Baptist Chapel at 2:30 p.m., August 6th, by Evangelists James A. Armstrong and Mrs. Emma Armstrong. Burial at Shy Cemetery.
