STEPHEN NOLEN LITTLE was born in New Columbus, Indiana, October the l6th, l840, and departed this life, June the 30th, l922, at the St. Mary's Hospital in Liberal, Kan. STEPHEN LITTLE removed to the State of Missouri in the year of l866 and was united in marriage to SAMANTHA MCKEE in the year of l866. To this union, six children were born, the oldest one, ROXY L., dying in infancy. His faithful wife, together with the remaining five children, survive him. The children are; MRS. CELESTE J. FOLAND, of Osceola, Iowa; RANSOM W., of Spearman, Texas; SHELBY J., of La Jaunta, Colorado; MRS. CORA A. FRY, of Beaver, Oklahoma; and JACOB L., also of Beaver, Okla. Besides his own children, he is survived by l9 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. The grandchildren are; MRS. RALPH PALMER, of Grand River, Iowa; NOLEN, ALBERT and THELMA FOLAND, of Osceola, Iowa; WILLARD, RUBY, GALE, PAUL, PHYLLIS, and NORA LITTLE, of Spearman, Texas; MRS. VERA WILMUTH, of Beaver, Oklahoma and LELA, FRANCIS and DONALD FRY, of Beaver, Oklahoma. The great grandchildren are; VICTOR RAY and MARVIN JAY WILMUTH, of Beaver, Oklahoma, and CLEO VAN PALMER, of Grand River, Iowa.

STEPHEN LITTLE was a man of extra strong vitality never knowing but little sickness in his lifetime. He was hale and rugged up to the last year of his life, but in the last year or so, he had had a few sudden attacks of sickness, the last attack coming suddenly. On Monday, the l9th of June, he took sick with kidney and bladder trouble. The doctors not being able to relieve him, he was taken to the St. Mary's Hospital in Liberal, Kansas, where an operation was performed in the hopes that his life might be saved, but owing to his advanced years, he succumbed to his afflictions just one week from the day on which he was operated upon.

MR. LITTLE was a resident of Decatur County, Iowa, for many years, coming to Decatur County in l874, where he resided in different parts of the county until the year of l903, when he removed to Beaver County, Oklahoma, where he homesteaded l60 acres of land and purchased l60 more. All of his children, with the exception of MRS. CELESTA FOLAND, took homesteads near him. He was one of the pioneers of Beaver County, Okla., as well as a pioneer of Decatur County, Iowa. All of his children were with him in his last illness. He was laid to rest in the cemetery near the city of Beaver, where he has resided for many years. He will be greatly missed by his family, as well as by a large circle of friends and acquaintances. He was a man well-liked and respected by those who knew him best.
