MRS. MARY HALL was born near Salem, Mass., Dec. l6, l837, the daughter of CALEB and ELIZABETH LOWE. With her parents she removed at an early age to Peabody, Mass. She was educated at a finishing school at Bangor, Me. Later with her father, she came west, settling in Illinois. On a visit to her sister in Vermont, she met MR. GEORGE R. HALL, whom she married on April 24, l864. Coming first to Chicago, they later went farther west, and finally made their permanent home in Leon, coming here about l882.

On Feb. 4, l9ll, MR. HALL passed from this life, leaving her alone. In the last few years her health and strength slowly failed, but she found kind friends who tenderly cared for her, and on Monday afternoon, June l9, l922, she gently fell asleep. She was aged 84 years, 5 months and 3 days. When she and her husband came to Leon they transferred their (*can't read) member until her death. She was very active in the work of the church, and especially in the Missionary Society, having been Treasurer of the Society for nineteen years. She was a woman of rare culture and of wide reading, but of a quiet and unobtrusive disposition. She will be sadly missed by the circle of friends who know her best and loved her for her true worth and womanhood.

The funeral was held from her late home Wednesday afternoon, Rev. T.F. Campbell, Pastor of the Presbyterian Church, officiating. Interment was in the Leon Cemetery.
