CHARLOTTE LORINDA JACKSON, daughter of ALMA and ELIZA J. JACKSON, was born near Leon, Iowa, November 20, l862; died at Natoma, Kansas, June l7, l922, being 59 years, 6 months and 29 days of age. Her girlhood was spent in and around Leon, she having been one of the successful school teachers of Decatur and Clarke Counties.

She professed Christianity at the age of l6, uniting with the Leon Christian Church. She was married to LEVI L. GUTHRIE, April l3, l882. They first made their home on a farm in Illinois, later in Nebraska and Iowa, then in Kansas. To them eight children were born, all of whom survive her, having grown to manhood and womanhood.
RUBY ADAMS, of Natoma, Kansas; NELLIE ALLISON, of Taylor Springs, New Mexico; PEARL GUTHRIE, of Bristow, Oklahoma; ROSA HARRIS, of New Castle, Colorado; RHODA SHIRLEY, of Elk City, Kansas; ETHEL TAYLOR SPRINGS,(sic) New Mexico and GLADYS, of New Castle, Colorado. She leaves, besides the husband, three sisters and two brothers, MRS. D.F. LONG, of Leon, Iowa, who was with the family during the last, sad rites, MRS. M.P. GARBER, of Des Moines; MRS. R.H. LANDERYOU and TRUMAN A. JACKSON, of Omaha and EDWARD B. JACKSON, of Waco, Texas. There are fifteen grandchildren and other relatives and numerous friends to mourn her loss.

She was a devoted wife and mother, ever placing the things of God first and growing in grace, enabling her to bear her suffering with fortitude, until at the last as she frequently informed her Pastor, she was ready and willing to go. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Lundagreen, and the remains followed by a large concourse of sorrowing friends, were laid away near Natoma, Kansas.
