ELLA EATON HAMILTON was born in Ohio, September l3, l852, and passed away in her home in Leon, April 28, l922, aged 69 years, 7 months and l5 days. She was a daughter of F.X. and SARAH EATON, who resided here many years of their lives. She came to Iowa in l870 and had resided in this county nearly the entire time, having taught in the Leon High School many years.

In August, l88l, she was married to LEN HAMILTON, who passed away March 9, l9l4. To this union was born one son, JOE F. HAMILTON, of this city. Besides the son and one granddaughter, she leaves two sisters, MRS. W.A. HUNT, of Burlington, Iowa, and MRS. SAM RUSH, of Detroit, Mich., who were with her during her recent illness.

MRS. HAMILTON passed away in a quiet and peaceful way, expressing a desire to live longer if it was God's will. If not, she was ready to go to meet those gone before. She had been a faithful member of the Leon Methodist Church for many years.

The funeral service was held from the Methodist Church, Sunday afternoon, April 30, conducted by the Pastor, E.A. Place, and the body was laid to rest in the Leon Cemetery.
