JOHN A. FRAZIER was born on June l, l838, in Muskingum County, Ohio, being one of a family of thirteen children. He was a son of ANDREW and EMILY (MCCOY) FRAZIER, who were natives of Ohio County, West Virginia, and were of Scotch-Irish and Irish decent respectively. In l866, he moved to Harrison County, Mo., where he was married in l867, to MISS MARTHA J. MORGAN, who died on March l7, l898. To this union four children were born, all dying in infancy.

On March 28, l900, he was married to MISS CLARA VARGA, of Leon, who died June l9, l906. Several years ago, he removed to Leon, where he since resided up to the time of his death, which occurred at his home in that city, April 6, l922, at 8 o'clock p.m. In MR. FRAZIER's early life, he made a profession of religion and united with the Presbyterian Church at Akron, Missouri, retaining his membership there until his death.
For many years he was an honored Elder of this church.

At the age of 23, he enlisted in Company G, Twentieth Ohio Infantry. He was in the government service three years and participated in the siege of Vicksburg, the battles of Shiloh and Donnellson and many other engagements. During a skirmish near Bolivar, Tennessee, he was wounded in the right shoulder, where the ball remained till his death.

On August l, l902, MR. FRAZIER and his nephew, O.L. FRAZIER, bought an interest in the Farmer's Bank of Davis City, Iowa, which he retained at the time of his death, being Vice-President of the institution.

He leaves to mourn his loss, his adopted daughter, CLARA, who is the wife of CHARLES THOMAS, of Leon, Iowa, and their two children, RUTH and JOHN; his two sisters, MRS. MARTHA CAREY, of Mt. Vernon, Ohio, and MRS. W.E. RILEY, of Blythedale, Mo., and many other relatives and friends. He lived a long and useful life and his passing will be mourned by a wide circle of friends who knew him and esteemed the worth of his character.

The funeral was held Saturday morning, April 8, at the Leon Presbyterian Church, Rev. T.F. Campbell, Pastor of the Church, officiating, interment was in the cemetery at Akron, Harrison County, Missouri.
