MRS. JENNIE ROBBINS ELLIS, one of the oldest citizens of Decatur County, was born in Essex County, New Jersey, October l8, l828, and departed this life near Leon, Iowa, April 4, l922, at the age of 93 years, 5 months and l6 days. She was united in marriage to Judge W.W. ELLIS, at Leon on December l, l868, her husband having preceded her many years ago, and she is survived by an only daughter, MRS. LINNIE CHANEY, of near Decatur, as well as a host of old-time friends.

MRS. ELLIS united with the Christian Church at Leon in l867, and until the infirmities of age prevented, was a regular attendant. Funeral services were held at the Christian Church in Leon on Wednesday, April 5th, and she was laid to rest by the side of her husband in the Leon Cemetery.
