Last evening the elegant home of MR. and MRS.
A.J. ALLEN was brilliantly
illuminated and decorated, and well filled by
a large number of friends
who had assembled to witness the marriage
ceremony of their eldest
daughter GRACE, to MR. MARTIN M. RAY.

Promptly at eight o'clock to the delightful
strain of Lohengrin's Bridal
March played by Prof. Schoenert, the bridal
party entered the west
parlor, and took their places under similax
decorations in the bay
window, and Rev. Gurley pronounced the words
that joined them together,
using the beautiful ritual of the
Presbyterian Church.

The beautiful bride looked charming in a
cream albatross costume trimmed
with satin ribbon and lace and carried
bride's roses. The groom wore
the conventional black dress suit. The
bride's sister, MISS STELLA,
acted as bridesmaid, attired in a becoming
cream evening dress, and MR.
EDGAR FOREMAN was best man.

An elaborate spread was served after the
congratulations and thus two of
the brightest and best of Leon's young people
started on their journey
through life, with the blessings and well
wishes of everyone in the
city.

The groom is an exemplary young man, the
eldest son of CAPT. and MRS.
J.A. RAY, and has grown to manhood in this
city. At present he is
connected with the Leon Mills and has shown
himself to be a hustler.
There is no more promising young man in the
city than MARTIN RAY.

The bride is the eldest daughter of CAPT. and
MRS. A.J. ALLEN and was
born and raised in this city. She has won a
large circle of admiring
friends with her bright smiles and winsome
manners, and will make a
fitting partner for the husband she has
chosen. The REPORTER joins its
congratulations to those of the many friends
of this happy young couple,
and wishes them a long life, filled to the
brim with happiness and
prosperity.

The guests from abroad were, MR. HORACE
BARNES, MISS MYRA EDWARDS, MISS
PUDGE BARNES, Albia; MR. and MRS. T.J. SMITH,
Lamoni; MR. and MRS. GLEN
WRIGHT, Lineville; MISS MARY RAY,
Plattsmouth, Neb; MISS MAY ROBINSON,
Chariton; MR. and MRS. JOE PRITCHARD, Goshen,
MO.
