Obituary
Lucretia Brumley died at her home five miles southwest of this (...) Roscoe township, Davis county, (...) January 2nd 1895. Her maiden (name) was Downing. She was born (...) one half mile of where she was (...) Sept. 205h 1839, and was the (first) female white child born in (Davis county). She was born to John N. Brumley July 13th 1856. They were (...) with nine children 3 of whom with the husband and father preceded her to the spirit land, six children with other relatives survive to mourn their loss, but their loss is her gain, (Phil. 1-2) On the 10th day of July 1859 she and her husband both gave their hearts to God and took membership with the Christian church since which time she has lived a devoted christian. She was a sister of Edl. S.B. Downing of Bloomfield, widely known as a successful preacher of the Christian church, also once chosen to represent Davis county in the state legislature. The funeral was from the Mt. Zion church near her home at one o'clock p.m. the 4th inst, conducted by Edl T.A. Renfro, after the sermon the remains are followed by many sorrowing relatives and friends to the Hubbard cemetery and tenderly laid away to (aw...) voice of the ( . . . . . )waken th....(missing)
