Oren Bruner
James Oren Bruner, 74, route 6, Bloomfield, died April 9, 1993, at his home.
He was born March 28, 1919, in Lancaster, Mo., to Frank and Ivalee Drake Bruner. He married Bethene Hopwood on June 19, 1949, in Ottumwa.
He farmed near the Stiles area for several years. He had been a resident of Bloomfield since 1981. He served four years in the Army during World War II, of which three years were served in the South Pacific. He was a member of Reed-Whisler Post 78 in Bloomfield and VFW Post 8880 in Bloomfield.
He is survived by his wife; a son, Steve of Ottumwa; a daughter, Linda Andrews of Donnellson; five grandchildren; three brothers, Charles and Robert of Downing, Mo., and Max of Memphis, Mo.; three sisters, Leola Comstock of Queen City, Mo., Ardell Dellinger of St. Joseph, Mo., and Doris Ketchum of Downing, Mo.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister, Wilma.
