Mrs W J Coons, a former resident of Davis County, died March 16, at her home in Cozad, Nebr., according to word received by local residents. She was 89 years old. Mrs Coons was the last surviving member of the William C Duffield family of 12 children. She was born in Van Buren County, moving to a farm near Floris with her parents, at an early age. Mrs Coons taught school in Bloomfield and in several rural schools, after which she move to Hand county, South Dakota, to take possession of a homestead. In 1890 she was married to W J Coons and moved to Cozad, Nebraska.
