Harlan B Scott was born in Walnut Township, Appanoose county, Ia. on January 3, 1857. He was a son of John F and Mary Robb Scott. He had three brothers and two sisters. All have passed away except Albert R of Centerville and Harrison who lives in Indiana.
He was married to Rhoda Jane Stark on August 1, 1875. To this union was born six children, Frank of Unionville; Pearl N of Valley Junction; Jess S of Scott, Miss.; Arthur of Clarence, Mo.; and Mrs R E Shephard of Wichita Falls, Tex. Another son, Fred, died December 30, 1899.
His wife Rhoda Jane died May 15, 1896, and on Novembert 23rd, 1904, he was married to Mrs Maude B Stevens of Jacksonville, Mo. To this union was born two sons Emil who is now 18 years old and Clarence Ford, age 11.
He died at his home near Bloomfield on November 6th, 1925 at the age of 68 years.
Funeral services were held at the Christian Church at Bunch.
