Mrs. Margaret Selman

SELMAN, HUNTER, BRIDGES

Ottumwa tri-weekly courier, August 06, 1912 Mrs. Margaret Selman, wife of Dr. Thomas J. Selman of Bloomfield, departed this life July 25, 1912, aged 47 years and 6 months. She leaves her husband and eight children. Margaret Ellen Hunter, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Erastus Hunter, was born in the state of Washington January 12, 1865. She moved with her parents to Wapello county, Iowa, when an infant and resided there until she grew to womanhood. She was united in marriage to Thomas J. Selman May 14, 1886, and to this union were born eight children, all of whom are living:
Ralph J. Sadie Veve, wife of Odus Bridges, Cora Alice, Marlon, Hazel Delia, Mamie Cecil, William Carl and Herbert Glenn. She united with the Methodist Episcopal Church at Ash Grove June 29, 1890, and has been a faithful member of the same throughout her Christian life. She was a patient sufferer through a long illness. The funeral services were held at the Methodist Episcopal Church at Ash Grove, the service being read by Rev. C. Cray Jones of Drakesville. The burial service and interment was at the old Wesley Chapel cemetery at Ash Grove.
