Ottumwa tri-weekly courier, July 20, 1911 MRS.MOUGHLER, AGED 87, IS DEAD. VENERABLE RESIDENT OF SOUTH OTTUMWA CALLED TO HER REWARD.
A life begun nearly eighty-seven years ago came to an end last evening at 6 o'clock, when Catherine Moughler was called to her reward at the home of her daughter, Mrs. George P. Nason 602 Queen Ann Avenue. Old age was the cause of death. Mrs. Moughler was one of the early pioneers of the state of Pennsylvania, having been born October 24, 1828 she had lived in the vicinity of Ottumwa for a number of years and in South Ottumwa for some time. Surviving are three daughters and two sons, and a great number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The children are: Mrs. Elisabeth Agee, Charles Moughler, Mrs. Emily P. Nason and Mrs. Angeline Pherigo of Ottumwa, and J. H. Moughler of Davis County. The funeral services will be held tonight at 7:30 o'clock at the Nason home, conducted by Rev. B. J. Shock, assisted by Rev. S. I. Elder.
The remains will be taken over the Rock Island tomorrow morning to Troy, where further services will be held at the Methodist church there, at 12:30o'clock.
Interment will be made in the Troy cemetery.
