Ottumwa tri-weekly courier, September 07, 1911

Ella Green Cruthers was born October 11, 1884, and departed this life August 31, 1911, being 26 years 10 months and 20 days old. April 27, 1904, she was united in marriage to Albert Cruthers and since that time they have resided in the community where she grew to womanhood. She was an obedient, loving daughter, a kind and true wife and an affectionate, sympathetic sister and friend. Her sufferings, while of short duration were intensely painful, but she bore it all nobly and patiently until God in his mercy relieved her and took her to his own. Her untimely death has cast a pall of gloom over the entire community and their sympathy goes out to the bereaved ones. How little we know what the future has in store for us and say with the poet. "In the midst of life we are in death." She leaves a sorrowing husband, mother, father, two brothers, Wilbur and George, three sisters, Mrs. Nannie Morris, Mrs. Carrie Wilson and Mrs. Grace Laughlin and other relatives besides a host of friends to mourn her loss. Funeral services were conducted at the Troy Methodist church by Rev. F. C. Belmer of Eldon.
Interment at Troy cemetery
