Ottumwa Tri-Weekly Courier March 1, 1910 OBITUARIES

Albert Sloan was born April 16, 1850 in the state of Ohio. With his parents he came to Iowa In 1855 locating near Agency, Wapello County. He was married to Mrs. Margaret Harward April 18. 1872. He was the father of eight children.
Helen and Joseph preceded him in death. His wife and children, Mary, Lucy.
Nina, Edith. Charles and Thresa survive also a sister Mrs. Cora Kinsinger of Drakeville, IA. Albert Sloane (spelling matches printed article) came to this locality in 1866 and excepting two years has since resided near Floris. He was a member of the Floris Baptist church for nearly 38 years and was always active in church work until falling in health some two years ago. He departed this life Friday morning, February 18, 1910 at 5 o'clock, making him 59 years,
10 months and 2 days old. The funeral services were held Sunday, Feb. 20 at the Baptist church at Floris, conducted by Rev. F. L. Roper, pastor of the church. Interment was made in the Pearce cemetery two miles east of Floris.
