I, Zilpha A Goodson, being of sound and disposing mind and memory and in all respects competent to make a Will, do hereby make, publish and declare this instrument to be my LAST WILL and TESTAMENT, hereby revoking and canceling all other wills by me heretofore made.
1st, I hereby direct my Executor hereinafter named to pay from my estate all of my just debts including expenses of last sickness and illness and to provide for a suitable erection at my grave if I have not done so during my lifetime.
2nd, I give, devise and bequeath to my brother, Ralph Harris, a life estate in and to my interest in the East half [E1/2] of the Southwest Quarter [SW1/4] and the West Forty [40] acresss of the Southeast Quarter [SE1/4] of Section Thirty, Township 69 North, Range 14, West of the 5th PM and at his death the remainder shall go to my daughters in equal shares to be their own property absolutely.
3rd I give, and devise and bequeath to Horace Sutherland of Cedar rapids, Iowa, the sum of $1000.00
4th, All of the rest, residue and remainder of my property of every kind, nature and description whatsoever which I shall own at the time of my death I give, devise and bequeath in equal shares as follows;
To Leah Mitchell an undivided 1/6; To Audrey Rees an undivided 1/6; To Milton Goodson an undivided 1/6; To Eugene L Goodson an undivided 1/6; To Rita McCullough a life estate in and to an undivided 1/6, which said property shall be held in her trust during her lifetime and at her death the same shall go to her children in equal shares; To Mary Elizabeth Smith a life estate in and to an undivided 1/6, which said property shall be held in trust during her lifetime and at her death the same shall go to her children in equal shares.
5th I hereby nominate and appoint Wilbur McMains as Executor and Trustee hereof. In Witness whereof, I have hereunto set my name on this 26th day of August, 1949. Zilpha Goodson.
