Looking for information on my mothers famiiy. Her great-grandfather was Gabriel Johnson, born Oct. 25, 1945 in North Carolina. Family moved to IN and from there to Iowa. He served in Civil War, 100 day soldier. Married Rebecca Ann Pogue Feb. 10, 1869. They had four children, I'm trying to find information on their daughter Rosetta Johnson, born April 12,1875 who would be my great grandmother. She married Garrett Spearing March 1, 1890. They divorced Sept. 24, 1895. Their daughter, my grandmother was raised by Rebecca and Gabriel. I've trying to find out what happened to Rosetta. The same day the divorce was granted in Adel, IA, Dallas County, she married a J.D. Mann. I don't know where they went from there, except in 1900 census they are living two doors down from Rebecca and Gabriel, with my grandmother Prisiclla Spearing still living with her grandparents. I don't know after as in the 1920 census she doesn't show as living in Dallas County area. I tried counties around there, as well as cemetrys but with no luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Rebecca Johnson lived to be 94 years old, and in the obit it says two of the four children were still living in Perry, IA. Name two children who had died, one being Rosetta Johnson. Did she take back her maiden name? Divorce Mann? Lots of questions and no answers as yet.
