Services for Harry S. Smith, 90, of the Mitchellville Care Center, formerly of Des Moines, died of a heart ailment Oct. 12 at Des Moines General Hospital. Services were held Oct. 15 at the Merle Hay Funeral Home in Des Moines with the Rev. Robert Haag officiating. Burial was at the Dexter Cemetery.

Mr. Smith was born in Dexter and was a retired farmer from Dallas and Madison Counties. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge.

Survivors include two sons, W. A. of Merit Island, Fla., and Harold E. of Lancaster, Calif.; two daughters, Ruth Phearman of Los Gatos, Calif., and Donna Anderson of Hinton, W. Va., 17 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
