Grandma Maxwell died at the home of her son, Mathew Maxwell, in Dexter last Thursday. She was ill but a few days and died of heart failure. Grandma was past ninety-five years old and had retained her faculties and was active up to a few days of her death.

She was a refined Christian old lady whom all loved and admired that were privileged to have made her acquaintance. Funeral at M.E. church Saturday and interment in Dexter cemetery. She leaves only one son and his family as immediate relatives and a host of friends to mourn her demise.

Transcriber’s note: No known gravestone in the Dexter cemetery for a Maxwell. Will keep researching this surname.
