Herman Waldo Streigle, youngest son of Ervin L. and Lois M. Streigle, was born at Rolla, Mo., Dec. 15, 1915 and died at the Abott hospital in Oskaloosa, Iowa, March 25, 1918, aged 2 years, 3 months and 9 days. At the age of one year, his parents returned to Iowa and are now located in Powesheik county, near Barnesville, where on Thursday evening, March 21st, the little one was suddenly seized with convulsions, which resulted in paralysis, and death relieved his suffering early Monday morning.

Besides his grief stricken parents, he leaves to mourn his early departure, one sister, Rona and two small brothers, Delbert and Clifford; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Streigle of Kelso, Wash., and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Marston of near Dexter; and two great grandmothers and numerous other relatives and friends.

Little Herman was an unusually happy and good natured child which endeared --- to all. Several times during the last two years his life had been despaired of but by skilled medical aid and care of loving hands he was permitted to brighten the home a little longer. In such times of grief and pain, we can only bow in submission to the wisdom of a heavenly Father who doeth all things well. His grace is sufficient for our needs. Our thoughts find expression in the words of David: “But now he is dead, I shall go to him, but he shall not return to me.”

Funeral services were held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Marston, Tuesday at two p.m., conducted by Rev. Eppard assisted by Rev. Hawthorne, after which the little body was laid to rest in the Dexter cemetery. Mrs. W. M. Kling, sister of Mrs. Streigle, accompanied the family here.
